Mifflin County School District consists of two high schools, three middle schools, and eight elementary schools. Enrollments vary from 177 - 598 at the elementary level, from 250 - 775 at middle schools, and 900 -1000 for each of the high schools. For more information on Mifflin County public schools click here.

Other education options include three private schools.  Belleville Mennonite School is located in Kishacoquillas Valley and serves children from preschool through 12th grade. Mifflin County Christian Academy  serves children from preschool through 12th grade. Sacred Heart School is located in downtown Lewistown and serves children from preschool through 8th grade.

The Lewistown area offers a two year associate degree program at South Hills School of Business & Technology, degree courses via Penn State with four classrooms at the Regional Business Center in downtown Lewistown, a three-year Registered Nurses program at the Lewistown Hospital and an LPN program at the Juniata - Mifflin Counties Area Vocational Technical School.  A brand new community college, the Tuscarora Regional Community College, is in its infancy serving Mifflin, Juniata, Huntingdon and Fulton counties. Although a campus may be years away, affordable course offerings will be available to residents of the four county area in a wide variety of locations and subjects.
